According to George Scallieris in his book "The People and Races of Asia Minor", the Greek population of Pontus was 605,042 which was broken down into the following parts.  Ecclesiastical Province (Number of Greeks): Amaseia (238,206), Trapezus (86,671), Chaldia (103,525), Koloneia and Nikopolis (37,585), Rodopolis (36,492). The Metropolis of Amaseia which had a population of 102,563 brought the total to 605,042.
