The Sergei Merkurov Museum is located in Gumry, Armenia. In November this year the museum will celebrate the 130th anniversary of the great sculptor Sergei Merkurov's birth. Sergei Merkurov was of Greek origin and was born in Alexandropol (now Gumry, Armenia). The house/museum was built by his grandfather. Sergei Merkurov is a monumental sculptor. He is more renowkned as a Soviet sculptor. He is the author of many monumental sculptures dedicated to Vladimir Lenin.
