Ioannis Tsortanidis (1900-1983) was a first generation Pontic lyra/kemenche player, singer and lyricist. He was best known for writing the lyrics to a song dedicated to captain Efklidis Kourtidis of Santa. Tsortanidis was born in Santa (today Dumanli) but after 1923 settled in Nea Santa in Kilkis, Greece. He was also known by his nicnames Tsortants or Tsortanikas.
